Join us on a fascinating walk through western part of Södermalm's industrial history! During the tour we will visit old industrial areas where manufactures and industries dominated from the 18th century to the first half of the 20th century. We will tell you about the factories and industrial environments that shaped the area's history and culture.

The start takes place at a former shoe factory, once the largest in Stockholm, to continue the story of the area's proud shipbuilding and engineering industry. From the first Swedish industrial steam engine to the purest vodka, you will hear stories about passionate entrepreneurs and exciting corporate battles.

We will also visit Långholmen's Spinning house, a former women's prison and workhouse from the 18th century, as well as a malmgård (nobilty summerhouse) with a long industrial history. We will explore places that used to be quarries and other interesting industrial environments.
